Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner’s task force f0r shrinking the number of Illinois government offices and geting rid off some unfunded mandates unanimously approved nearly 30 recommendations Thursday.
The recommendations themselves will not be known until the group releases a report later this month. But group members who voted on the recommendations during a meeting in Chicago indicated that the list will include consolidating some school districts and townships, as well as reviewing some unfunded mandates on municipalities that haven’t been revised for nearly 30 years.
